Forex Blogs and the US Dollar

By Bart Icles

Foreign exchange trading has indeed earned its place in the finance world. More and more new investors are joining this trading arena as each day passes and they are all attracted by the constant challenge of a risks and rewards game. Of all the currencies involved in this market, the US dollar remains as a popular in many forex articles. It is not unusual for a currency trading newbie to come across a forex blog that follows the changing trend in the performance of a US dollar.

Although seasoned forex investors will advise against following a single currency, one cannot avoid following the US dollar. This currency remains as one of the most popular headlines of many forex journals, newsletters, and articles. There are still many people banking on currency pairs that involve the US dollar. Thus, it is no surprise that there are lots of investors who are on the lookout for what will happen next to this intriguing currency.

In the past year, the US dollar has been facing against currency giants as its value plays around its lowest levels for the past decade. With all the economic, financial, and socio-political issues that haunt the US, many people thought that it would be unlikely for the dollar to climb up the ranks again. During the first quarter of this year, many forex investors were caught by surprise by the 200 pip changes between the US dollar and the Euro. They were even more surprised when they found out that the US dollar suddenly started to settle along the mean. Over the past few months, its value has safely danced on smaller pip changes.

Many forex blogs predicted that this apparent stability might again return to its volatile state with the surging oil prices and price hikes. Indeed, these factors have affected the US dollar in the past quarter but it did not result to significant pip movements. This led many speculators to think that there might be calmer times ahead for the US dollar.

In the forex world, nothing is constant. Changes happen every minute. Any forex blog will tell you that anything can happen to the US dollar between now and the next 5 minutes. If you are new to the forex market, it indeed helps to start trading using currency pairs that involve the dollar. This will allow you to learn more about the volatilities of the market as this currency surely attracts lots of changes. - 23223

Keeping Investment Property Records The Easy Way

By Julie Broad

I have a bit of a confession to make this year's taxes were a nightmare. Last year was a crazy year for my husband and me. We got married, we started adventure racing which took up nearly 20 hours a week for training, and we started an online real estate investing education business. We also dealt with a property renovation and a few other real estate investing odds and ends. So - every month when it was time for me to update my rental property records I just couldn't find the time.

I would always put the bookkeeping off until the next day, the next month... and kept pushing the task later and later. At the end of the year I realized that I had not recorded a single receipt or expense for that whole year! Since I always tell other investors NOT to do this, I was shocked at how I had allowed this to happen.

And this was just the work we do to prepare everything for our accountant " we don't even do our own taxes!

Thank goodness that Dave (my husband) and I had a five step system in place already. That made entering a year's worth of receipts relatively quick and easy.

In the beginning, you have to pay careful attention to your records to see where you can cut costs and increase income. Once you've done this for a while and you have a better idea of your costs, it might be safe to pay less attention every month. But in case you fall far behind (like I did), there's an easy way to keep investment property records:

1. Every property you own should have it's own bank account- this is especially important if you have partners. Any activity with this bank account (deposits from income as well as withdrawals for expenses) should be related to a particular property. This will make it easy for you to determine whether the property is making you money or is costing you money overall.

2. When you use a personal bank account or your credit card to purchase something for a property, always record the address of the property for which the purchase was made as well as the reason for the expense on the receipt immediately. If you don't record the information immediately, chances are you will not remember in a week, let alone in a year! This also goes for all expenses incurred when meeting with partners to discuss investments- be sure to record who was present at the meeting and which properties were discussed, as well as what specifically you discussed about those properties.

3. Weekly - review your mail and pay the bills. If you only have one rental property you might get away with doing this less often, but with a bunch of properties, you'll need to set aside a bit of time each week to review all of the bills. You could hire a bookkeeper to do this, but then you'll want to have monthly reports sent to you about the bills that are being paid so that you know when expenses are climbing unexpectedly. So, you'll still need a bit of time to review the report.

4. If you're not the type to enter bills and statements in your spreadsheet right away, (and honestly, we aren't always that type ourselves) then using stacking drawers is the best way to go. What you should do is to designate a separate drawer for each property. Then you can simply throw all the paperwork, including statements, expenses, tenant communications and bills into the drawer for that particular property.

5. Now that everything is in one place for each property, you can get away with filling out your income and expense tracking spreadsheet about every 2-3 months. You can use a simple Excel spreadsheet or you can find a program offered by companies like Buildium or Quicken.

Steps 1 through 4 will make things easy on you at the end of the year- even if you disregard step 5 more often than not. Using this system is an easy and effective way to help you keep track of income and expenses related to your rental properties. - 23223

Automated Forex Trading System - The Advantages

By Jane MacRae

Automated forex trading is no longer a new idea to the players in this field.

Forex trading, or foreign exchange trading, is simply the buying and selling of the world's currencies. You buy when that currency is low, you sell when it is high, and you make a profit.

However, while the concept of forex trading itself is simple enough, the actual process is filled with complexities. The forex market moves at a fast pace, and changes occur from time to time. An automated forex trading system can be just what you need to keep up.

What an automated forex system does it to automate the process of forex transactions. Probably to some people, a more hands-on, manual approach might seem like the best way to go. However, the benefits of using an automated system are something most players will not pass by.

1. It works 24/7

The forex market does not require sleep. It is live 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

You are not a machine. You need to sleep, to eat, to entertain, to shop, to pick up your kids from school. There is no way you can monitor everything that happens on the forex market, all hours of the day and night, manually.

Now, with automated forex system, you can become more efficient. The system does not require breaks, and It can monitor the market changes restlessly. Even while you are sleeping, brushing your teeth, or running errands, your automated system can be making money for you.

2. It is a Multi-Tasker

On the other hand, the forex market moves fast and, sometimes, a lot of different things can happen at once. Even if you are sitting in front of your computer, diligently monitoring the market, you can still end up missing amazing opportunities.

This is not a problem for an automated forex system. No matter how fast something happens, no matter how many different things happen at the same time, your automated trading system will still keep track.

3. It Does Not Give Ways to Emotions

Sometimes, emotions can get in the way of making sound business decisions. On the forex market, where making the right split second decisions can mean the difference between making and losing money, being impulsive, indecisive, unsure, or rash can do you financial harm.

Again, this is not a problem for an automated forex system. Once you tell the system what to do and when to do it (based on your knowledge of the market) those things will get done, and in a timely manner.

Many forex investors have already benefited from the automated forex trading system. If you are serious about your success in this market, you should invest some time to check out some of the really good software in the market. It is highly likely that you will get your investment back within weeks, if not days. - 23223

Millionaire Trader Teaches You How To Use The Stochastic Oscillator

By Sam Nielson

The Stochastic oscillator will move between 0 and 100. Low readings mean an oversold market while high readings mean an overbought market. Oversold means the market over reacted on the sell off and is ready to bounce upward. Overbought means the market over reacted on the buying and is ready to turn down.

Buy when the Stochastic oscillator is low. Sell when the Stochastic oscillator is high. The idea is to take advantage of other traders when they are emotional: either fearful or greedy. Selling when the Stochastic is high is difficult because you'll want to hang on longer: greed. Buying when the Stochastic is low is difficult because you'll want to sit on the sidelines longer until the chart looks better.

The Stochastic indicator should not be used by itself but rather with other technical indicators. When a strong uptrend starts, the Stochastic indicator quickly becomes overbought and starts flashing sell signals. In a sudden sell off, the Stochastic indicator becomes oversold and flashes premature buy signals. This indicator works well only if you use it with another trend-following indicator and take only those Stochastic signals that point in the direction of the main trend.

Should you wait for the Stochastic indicator to turn up before buying? Should you wait for it to turn down before selling? No. If you wait until the Stochastic turns, you'll miss out on making a lot of money. What you are trying to do is enter as soon as the Stochastic indicator reaches an extreme. View very low or very high Stochastic readings as a measure of the emotion in the crowd that is trading your stock. The more the emotion, the better. It is easier to make money from emotional traders than it is from calm, rational traders.

If you see a positive divergence between the Stochastic and the price of a stock, go long. A positive divergence is when the stock price drops to a new low, but the Stochastic indicator makes only a slight low and does not break to a new low. Do the opposite on the downside. If you see a negative divergence between the Stochastic and the price of a stock, go short. A negative divergence is when prices rise to a new high, but the indicator goes down or barely rises at all.

You should not buy a stock when the Stochastic is high. Conversely, you should not sell a stock when the Stochastic is low. This is probably the most accurate way to use the Stochastics. Reverse your thinking and look at it as telling you when NOT to trade a stock. Indeed, moving averages are superior to the Stochastic at picking up on trends, the ADX is better at catching entry and exit points, but the Stochastic is the best at telling you when you should NOT trade a stock. - 23223
